CAN-basic
A problem solver for extreme soft seabed conditions for conductor stability.
The CAN-basic is a suction anchor to support the conventional conductor. Unlike conventional suction anchors, the CAN-basic has a guide pipe that extends through the entire length of its body. The conductor is then fitted with a hanger that suspend the full length of the conductor at the top of CAN, providing vertical and lateral support.
FEATURES & BENEFITS
The core of CAN technology
The CAN-basic is the foundation for all CAN solutions, enabling technological advances subsea and leading the way toward the next generation of subsea solutions.
High load capacity & improved well support
The CAN-basic's load capacity is calculated prior and verified during installation to ensure quality and integrity.
Pre-installed with light vessels
Pre-rig installations require less equipment, services, and logistics amounting to valuable cost and time savings.
Compatible with a jetted conductor or a drilled and cemented conductor
The CAN-basic provides a stable well foundation with high load capacity for a jetted conductor, or drilling and cementing a conductor, depending on well requirements.
Reliable option for soft seabeds and sand
The CAN-basic’s novel approach to wellhead foundation installation decouples well support from the soil properties surrounding the well and supports conductors in low load bearing capacity seabed soils.
Shorter conductor requirements
Whether jetted conductor or drilled and cemented conductor, the well loads taken via the CAN-basic enable a shorter conductor length.
Immediate drill-ahead
With jetted conductors, the CAN-basic offers immediate drill-ahead capabilities when landing the conductor in the CAN. Therefore, no conductor soaking time is required.
APPLICATIONS
CO2 storage wells
The CAN-basic supports reuse of temporary pulled wells for CO2 injection wells.
P&A wells
Support for Plug and Abandonment of temporary plugged wells.
Load carrier for conductor jetting
The CAN-basic is designed to bear the brunt of the weight, maximising the load capacity and integrity of the conductors.
